9th Annual Irvine/Asics Distance Carnival

April 6th, 2019 Important “Invitational” Information

Meet Information for 2019 Irvine Distance Carnival. We would like to invite your team to participate in the 9th Annual Asics/Irvine Distance Carnival at Irvine High School. The meet is brought to by Irvine Track Team. This will provide a place to bring your distance runners looking for a good competition on a great track. The meet will have the 400, 800, 1600, and 3200 events.
Entry Deadline – Sunday March 31st– 11:59pm on www.episports.com. Please note the Deadline

Medals will be given to the first 2 places 400m, 4 places in the 800m, 6 places in the 1600, 7 places in the 3200m in EVERY RACE. We are using a custom medal specifically designed for the Irvine Distance Carnival

Divisions: Boys F/S & Varsity, Girls F/S & Varsity
Entry Fee: 6.00 per athlete, per event. Team Cap is $250 per gender or $500 for unlimited entries.

You will need to bring a check the day of the meet. Please do not send checks!

Distance Events (400m, 800m, 1600m, 3200m)—
Schools will be allowed to enter unlimited entries for each of these events.

Order of Events—The Order of Events is enclosed and will aid planning of entries. We run ahead of schedule whenever possible.

Athletes Admission—Athletes will have their hand stamped at the Athletes check-in gate located near the Snack Bar Building. For admission to the stadium track athletes must be wearing their uniform.

Concession Stand
—We will have a full concession stand

Spikes—Spikes must be 3/16” or smaller. Additional spikes will be available for sale at the table near the entrance to the stadium. The Clerk of the Course and the Starters will be checking for proper spikes.

T-Shirts—T-Shirts will be available for sale for 10 dollars!

Programs—Programs will be available for sale for spectators at the entrance of the stadium. It will include the Order of Events, the names of athletes that are competing in each heat and event.

Athletic Trainer—We will have several trainers on site and available for all athletes. The trainer will be set up on the infield toward the scoreboard side under a canopy. Make sure that you bring training supplies with you for your athletes.

Track and Infield—Only those athletes that are participating may be on the infield or on the track area. Athletes will be given proper time to warm up before they are called to compete. It is important that athletes check-in when there heat is called.

Canopies—Canopies are allowed on the grass area near the scoreboard and on the visitor’s side of the stadium. Canopies will NOT be allowed on the press box side of the stadium.
Nondiscrimination in Athletics

The District does not discriminate in enrollment in or access to any athletics program available. Admission to these programs is based on age appropriateness, team roster space, aptitude, and meeting academic eligibility requirements. The lack of English skills shall not be a barrier to admission to or participation in the District’s activities and programs.
The District’s facilities and equipment provided for students are comparable and equitable to both sexes without disparity or imbalance, consistent with his or her gender identify, irrespective of the gender listed on the pupil’s record.
