Meet Information for 2018 Irvine Invitational
The 2018 Irvine/Asics Track and Field Invitational will feature a Friday and Saturday meet. The Friday meet will feature small schools limited to 20. Saturday’s meet will remain a regular invitational limited to 25 schools. Schools can apply to compete Friday or Saturday. Contracts are online along with fax information! Meet timing is provided by Socal Timing. Entry Deadline - March 4th – 4:00pm @www.episports.com
Substitutions are o.k. if you enter a name where an athlete will compete or NO spot will be available for your team.
Please enter your athletes best mark.
Each team may enter up to 3 entries in all field events and distance races, 2 entries in sprints and hurdles and 1 entry in relays
There will be no name changes the day of the meet at the Clerk!
Please fax over a contract to secure your teams spot at the meet ASAP!
Divisions: Boys F/S & Varsity, Girls F/S & Varsity
Entry Fees: 7 dollars per entry, 28 dollars for relays with a max $300 per gender, or a max of 600 dollars for boys and girls

Jumping and Throwing Events—For the F/S shot put, discus, Long Jump and Triple Jump each athlete will receive four (4) attempts. In Varsity, shot put, discus, long and triple Jump each athlete will receive three (3) attempts. In varsity only the final 9 competitors will receive an additional (3) attempts. The Friday night throws will have lights on the field to give your athletes an unique experience.
Order of Events—The Order of Events is online and will aid planning of entries. We run ahead of schedule whenever possible.
Athletes Admission—Athletes will have their hand stamped at the Athletes check-in gate located near the Snack Bar Building. For admission to the stadium track athletes must be wearing their uniform.
- On Saturday medals will be given to the first 5 places in individual events and for the first 4 places in the relay events. For Friday, the first 3 places and 2 relays will medal. All overall Varsity winners on Friday & Saturday will receive a custom Asics Backpack.
- Scoring will be for the first 8 places in each event. (CIF Format)
- Awards may be picked up from the infield area at the end of the meet. Only Coaches will be allowed to pick them up.
- The meet management will give an “Athlete of the Meet” to the boy and girl as well as plaques for the top 3 teams on the Varsity Level. At the F/S level we will have plaques for the top 2 teams for boys and girls. On Friday the top 2 teams at each level will receive a plaque.
Spikes—Spikes must be 3/16” or smaller. Additional spikes will be available for sale at the table near the entrance to the stadium. The Clerk of the Course and the Starters will be checking for proper spikes.
T-Shirts—T-Shirts will be available for sale for 10 dollars!
Programs—Programs will be available for sale for spectators at the entrance of the stadium. It will include the Order of Events, the names of athletes that are competing in each heat and event, and the Irvine Invitational records for each event.
Athletic Trainer—We will have several trainers on site and available for all athletes. The trainer will be set up on the infield toward the scoreboard side under a canopy. Make sure that you bring training supplies with you for your athletes.
Track and Infield—Only those athletes that are participating may be on the infield or on the track area. Weight coaches may be in the shot put area while observing their athletes. Pole vault coaches will be allowed in the pole vault area! Please monitor your athletes throughout the day. This year wristbands will be given to PV coaches needing to enter the field.
Canopies—Canopies are allowed on the grass area near the scoreboard and on the visitor’s side of the stadium. Canopies will NOT be allowed on the press box side of the stadium.
